Cristian Orozco, 17, is set to join Manchester United after the club reached an agreement with Fortaleza CEIF. The Colombian youth international captained his side to the U17 South American Championship final, drawing comparisons to United’s Malian recruit Sekou Kone.
The defensive midfielder cannot join until he turns 18, meaning the move will be completed in July next year. Orozco’s signing continues United’s strategy of targeting non-European youth prospects, as seen with Paraguayan Diego Leon earlier this year.
