A reconstructed bridge at Bama on Burkina Faso’s National Road 9 (RN9) has reopened to traffic, restoring an important road connection in the Hauts-Bassins region. The project was launched to replace infrastructure damaged during previous rainy seasons. Reports say the new structure was built to national-road standards and is intended to improve the reliability of transport along the Bama–Bobo-Dioulasso corridor. The RN9 is an important route linking Bobo-Dioulasso toward the Mali border, meaning the restored crossing can support the movement of people and goods along the corridor.
